Hemispherian: Developing new ways to fight cancer
- Published 27 May 2025; updated 25 March 2026; estimated reading time 1 minute. Hemispherian is developing cancer therapies intended to target cancer-cell DNA-repair mechanisms while sparing healthy cells. Its main focus is glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain cancer with limited effective treatments. This is a company-development description, not clinical efficacy evidence.
- The page says Hemispherian raised NOK 140 million (approximately USD 13.3 million) since late 2022, including NOK 105 million (about USD 10 million) from the European Innovation Council Accelerator. It was seeking additional US investment for research and international partnerships.
- Innovation Norway’s New York team, through Investment Manager Jannik Grodt Schmidt and the health team, connected company leadership with US and European investors. The page reports more than 20 investor meetings, with some investors conducting deeper evaluations. Founder and CEO Zeno Albisser credits the team’s introductions to investors and US pharmaceutical-industry contacts.
