  • Published 26 September 2023; updated 30 September 2026; estimated reading time 5 minutes. A hydrogen hub is described as an integrated local chain spanning production, storage, distribution and use, sharing infrastructure to reduce cost and address the demand/infrastructure “chicken-and-egg” problem. The article names five Enova-supported hubs along Norway’s coast: Agder, Glomfjord, Rørvik, Hitra and Florø. It reports total awards of EUR 61 million, including roughly EUR 13.4 million to Glomfjord Hydrogen, alongside investment from Greenstat, Meløy Energi, Nel and Troms Kraft. Glomfjord’s project had reportedly been under development since 2016.
  • The article’s 2050 vision is a Norwegian coastal hydrogen corridor connected to European corridors, supporting low-carbon long-distance shipping and trucking. Glomfjord Hydrogen planned to use renewable hydropower and its industrial-park/port location to supply users and develop an Arctic trucking corridor with Norwegian and Swedish partners. It says the project was technically mature but needed end-user and value-chain connections.
  • For the Agder hub near Kristiansand, Everfuel and Greenstat planned a 20 MW electrolyser in phase one and a 60 MW electrolyser in a later Power-to-X phase with Elkem and Glencore Nikkelverk. The page’s initial operations target of 2024 and its other future-oriented statements are historical project plans, not confirmation of completion/current operation.
  • Quoted contacts include Geir Ove Ropphaugen, CEO of Glomfjord Hydrogen; Ivar-Jo Theien, Innovation Norway; and Everfuel business-development managers Frode Kirkedam and Jan Erik Ødegård. No direct contact block shown. Related industries: Transportation, Energy and Hydrogen.
