Founded in Trondheim in 2015, OptoScale develops camera technology for aquaculture. The article says its AI-assisted underwater cameras provide real-time data about fish health, sea lice and growth. The company received the Made in Norway origin label and says it helps communicate Norwegian technology and product quality to domestic and international customers.

The article connects demand for underwater camera systems with stricter regulation and the need to improve production and fish welfare. OptoScale says maintaining the standards required by the label is a challenge as well as an incentive to improve, and plans to make the label part of its identity as it enters new markets.
