Oslo-headquartered Optronics Technology develops and manufactures optical gas detectors for demanding industrial environments. The company was founded in 2018 by Lasse Olav Irvam, Preben Storås and Even Rognlien. The article traces its technology heritage to Norwegian solid-state infrared gas detection developed with SINTEF, and says research, testing, production and supply-chain management are based in Norway.
The company serves oil and gas, maritime, infrastructure and renewable energy customers. Its PG11 point detector detects combustible gases and CO2 and uses the company’s Solid State Infrared SafeSource technology. The page lists lifetime factory calibration, condition monitoring and longer maintenance intervals among its features; accessories and integration options include duct mounting, sampling systems and communication modules. The PG11 has received the Made in Norway label.
The article frames Norwegian engineering and manufacturing as a way to establish trust and distinguish the company internationally. It says accurate early gas detection is important in safety-critical settings. These are company and publisher claims.
