Paxster has produced small electric vehicles in Sarpsborg since 2012. The article says more than 4,000 vehicles are in use in Europe and characterizes Paxster as Norway’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer. The company began with purpose-built vehicles for post, newspaper and parcel delivery and has expanded into electric commercial vehicles with loading platforms for uses such as municipal maintenance, parks, golf courses, industrial sites and ports.

Paxster’s vehicles carry the Made in Norway label. The company says Norwegian manufacturing and the label help communicate quality and responsible production in international markets. The article describes competition with international manufacturers and lower-priced fossil-fuel alternatives, and quotes the company hoping that other European markets will introduce electric vehicle purchase incentives.
