Satema says it has developed and produced electrical distribution equipment since 1963. Its products are used in temporary settings such as construction, festivals, defence and emergency relief, as well as permanent infrastructure including transport, energy, aquaculture, hospitals, airports and data centres. Its SatCon emergency and backup power system for data centres received the Made in Norway label.

SatCon is an enclosed backup power system designed for data centres in Nordic operating conditions. The article says it can use HVO100 biodiesel made from waste and residue streams, which the publisher describes as capable of cutting CO2 emissions by 90%. It also says operators can offer grid flexibility through flexibility markets and that Satema’s Conscious Care maintenance programme is designed to reduce lifecycle costs and environmental impacts. These performance and emissions statements are publisher/company claims.

Satema primarily serves Nordic markets, especially Norway, Sweden and Finland. The article links demand for data centres to the region’s climate and power prices and says operators value local suppliers. Satema Group is described as having about 200 employees and eight locations across Norway, Sweden, Latvia and Finland; named group entities include Satema AS, Satema AB, Satema Baltic SIA, Skaaret AS, Eltavle Grenland AS, Øksnes Teknikk AS and Jonator Oy. The article says the group is owned by Connecting Capital Sweden AB and part of United Power.
