INDUSTRY / PUBLIC SOURCE RECORD
Hydrogen
- The page promotes Norway’s green and low-carbon hydrogen production and hydrogen-powered vessels, plus solutions for transport, storage and distribution with safety as a priority. About tab describes over a century of renewable-energy and clean-hydrogen experience; renewable hydrogen from electrolysis and blue hydrogen/ammonia from natural gas with carbon capture and storage; expertise in electrolysers, storage/distribution, safety and CCS; the European gas-grid connection operating since the 1980s; participation in the European Hydrogen Backbone; and planned hydrogen corridors for maritime and heavy-truck transport. It says future excess clean hydrogen could be exported to help decarbonise emitters globally.
- Additional claims include systematic safety and reliability work; nearly 100% renewable electricity generation (the page cites 2023 figures of 89% hydropower and 9% wind); top-10 IMD talent-ranking performance since 2020; a fourth-place European Ease of Doing Business ranking in the World Bank’s 2020 table; and second place on the Human Development Index, alongside quality of life, healthcare, education, work-life balance, public safety and a clean environment.
- Three linked articles cover the NORHyWAY hydrogen valley/value chain, the hydrogen-and-ammonia value chain, and investment in Norway’s clean-hydrogen future. Featured solutions: Brødrene Aa hydrogen fast ferries; Hexagon Purus lightweight hydrogen-storage/distribution cylinders; HydrogenPro green hydrogen for energy-intensive industries; and Nordic Unmanned’s railway drone (the displayed solution description discusses preventing passenger/freight delays).
- Companies tab shows 5 of 21 results: Brødrene Aa AS (fast carbon-fibre ferries); HAV Group ASA (maritime zero-emission technology/services); Vysus Norway AS; Hexagon Purus Maritime AS; and Hexagon Purus ASA. The page links the full 21-company and hydrogen-solutions catalogues.
- Team Norway comprises the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Innovation Norway, Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) and Export Finance Norway (Eksfin). The displayed Innovation Norway description says it leads the “national export initiative on offshore wind,” an apparent copy inconsistency on this hydrogen page. Supporting clusters/organisations listed are H2Cluster, Ocean Hyway Cluster and the Norwegian Hydrogen Forum; their descriptions refer respectively to hydrogen-sector collaboration, the hydrogen/ammonia value chain, and advocacy for hydrogen and ammonia as energy carriers.
