Manufacturing and design
- The page describes Norwegian manufacturing/design as combining aesthetics, authenticity, function and sustainability to make high-quality products. It highlights furniture/interior design, fashion, sportswear and equipment, and links separate pages for Fashion and Furniture. Linked articles cover designer chairs made from old aquaculture nets and reducing fast-fashion microplastic pollution; featured solutions concern textile reuse (NTG), toxin-free merino clothing for young children (Lillelam) and Fora Form office furniture.
- About tab’s six themes are Nordic design aesthetics, design inspired by nature and durable products using renewable/circular/recycled materials (including wood, wool and aluminium), practical and long-lasting products, clean-energy and automated manufacturing with circular production, a 1,000-year craftsmanship tradition, and collaborative product development based on exploration, knowledge-sharing and circular business models.
- It also lists general operating advantages: regulated working conditions and product quality; skilled, autonomous workers and trust-based industrial culture; strong digital coverage and skills; nationwide R&D and industrial clusters plus EEA market access; political/economic stability; and living standards, safety, work-life balance, healthcare, education, gender equality, family leave, childcare and a clean environment.
