Join Team Norway at Global Offshore Wind Summit Japan
- Conference/exhibition held 15–17 October 2025 at Akita Arts Theatre “Mille Has,” Akita, Japan. Organised by Global Wind Energy Council and Japan Wind Power Association; Innovation Norway and Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo organised the Norway pavilion. Contact: Taro Hattori (taro.hattori@innovationnorway.no). Related industry: offshore wind.
- The page presents GOWS as a yearly event with developers, construction firms, service/technology/equipment providers, policymakers and offshore-wind regions; it says the prior year drew 700 Japanese and international participants. Team Norway offered a pavilion, market access, B2B introductions and an embassy-hosted Norway–Japan seminar/networking activities.
- Japan targets cited: 5.7 GW offshore wind before 2030 and 35–45 GW by 2040, including floating wind. The page highlights expanded development in Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone and Akita’s wind resource; it describes the 140 MW Akita-Noshiro Port project as operating and four fixed-bottom projects plus one floating demonstration project as government-awarded/under construction.
- Exhibitor benefits: company logo/video at pavilion, Norway booth presence, partner/customer introductions, seminar pitching slot, main-stage mentions, stand construction/dismantling/project management and Team Norway marketing. Stand/seminar fee was approximately NOK 15,000 excluding VAT and capped at that amount, with final cost dependent on exchange rates and exhibitor count. It covered direct pavilion costs only; travel/lodging and separate conference/dinner tickets were extra. Registration became binding at the 15 August 2025 deadline and could close earlier at a six-company booth limit. The page recommended separate conference registration and offered additional help arranging B2B meetings.
- The page also describes the event as a route for municipal/regional dialogue and relationship-building in Japan’s floating-wind market. Participants were subject to ESG/responsible-business standards, UN Guiding Principles, OECD guidelines and due diligence.
