Invest in Norway: Battery
- The page promotes Norway as a location for a lower-carbon, circular battery value chain, citing renewable electricity, modern mining, process-industry capabilities and access to used EV batteries. Existing production includes aluminium and silicon precursor materials and refining of nickel, cobalt, graphite and copper; the process sector is described as clean, innovative and efficient.
- The page argues that hydropower offers renewable, stable and affordable power for energy-intensive battery and precursor manufacturing. It describes a growing supply-chain ecosystem organised through Battery Norway, battery research collaboration through FME Battery, and Nordic/European projects including Horizon Europe, IPCEI and the Nordic Battery Collaboration.
- Norway’s EV adoption and electric-maritime development are presented as a testing ground for charging infrastructure, autonomous transport, electric ferries and mobility batteries. The page also highlights potential for battery reuse/recycling with high EV volumes and Eyde Cluster/research support. Invest in Norway offers information, networks and site-selection support.
