FloodCube Realtime monitors flood risk 24/7
- Published 9 September 2023 and updated 23 September 2026. FloodCube Realtime uses weather data and AI to predict flooding 12–72 hours ahead and turn forecasts into actions. Co-founder and CCO Jonas Aas Torland calls its precision a world first. Businesses can protect operations or reroute staff and supplies; municipalities can protect residents and infrastructure; homeowners can estimate water accumulation at their property.
- The page cites increasing frequency of formerly rare floods, USD 850 billion in US flood damage since 2000, and a cited projection of a further 26% increase by 2050. It says FloodCube can reduce flood damage by up to 90%, helping prevent deaths, injuries, financial losses, housing and infrastructure damage, environmental harm and emissions from rebuilding.
- 7Analytics says it built a Nordic platform and is expanding abroad, especially in the US, targeting large organisations with physical assets in flood-prone urban areas. In May 2023 it partnered with Norwegian weather-information company StormGeo and TotalEnergies in Houston to provide continuous flood-risk monitoring. Related products are InzureFlood for insurance/financial services and FloodCube Planning for longer-term development and urban planning. The page links the solution to UN goals 6, 11 and 13.
