Anteo’s app monitors fish welfare during delousing

From the public capture. Detailed factual notes from Business Norway. Statements and figures reflect the source at the time of capture.

  • Published 22 November 2022 and updated 21 September 2026. Anteo’s FishCtrl app digitally counts sea lice, records fish injuries and deformities, collects data automatically and monitors welfare in real time during mechanical delousing. The digital log follows FISHWELL welfare indicators and can export data to aquaculture operating and business-intelligence systems.
  • Delousing itself can stress and injure fish, while sea lice affect farmed and wild salmon. FishCtrl is intended to give operators faster feedback, support decisions during treatment and lower the risk of injury, infection and mortality. Anteo was developing features to compare welfare before and after delousing and refine operations. The page links to UN goals 2, 12 and 14.
  • The same page also contains a separate Ecotone section on seabed mapping: continuously updated maps allow counting of species and fauna beneath farms, early detection of environmental changes and operational/reporting support. It describes Ecotone, founded in 2010 from NTNU research, as a sole supplier with patents in 15 countries and joint development with aquaculture and petroleum companies.
