  • Published 22 March 2023; updated 23 March 2026; 2-minute read. Catch Solar makes aluminium solar-thermal panels integrated into roofs and façades, replacing conventional building materials and delivering heat directly for use in the building. The article says direct conversion to heat is four times more efficient than converting solar energy to electricity and then to heat, while local production avoids some transmission losses.
  • Panels are described for homes, commercial/public and agricultural buildings, and can complement electric, heat-pump, district, biomass or geothermal systems. The page also says the technology can provide cooling in hot climates when paired with adsorption or absorption cooling equipment. It cites heating as about half of global energy use, Norway’s heating as 65–70% of electricity consumption, and a USD 19.2 billion solar-thermal market valuation from 2016; these are the article’s dated market/context figures. Linked UN SDGs: 7 and 9.
