CheckWare digital patient participation platform
Published 2 October 2023; updated 23 March 2026; 3-minute read. CheckWare provides digital clinical measures, remote monitoring and online treatment programs for hospitals, clinics and health trusts, covering physical and mental health. Its library includes digital distribution rights to more than 1,300 clinical measures, tests, patient-reported outcome measures and diagnostic interviews. Providers can digitise their own questionnaires, integrate medical devices and third-party health apps, and connect the system with electronic patient records.
The article frames the service as a way to manage healthcare capacity by collecting patient-reported information and enabling follow-up outside hospitals. One epilepsy specialist reports monitoring 131 patients per year rather than 10, without additional time spent on patient-centred work. Other user results cited include a 57.4% cut in administrative time, improved waiting-list prioritisation and six fewer weeks in hospital for premature newborns.
CheckWare says it has supported digital patient participation since 2007, serves all four Norwegian regional health authorities and is used by providers in the UK NHS and Sweden. Offices are listed in Norway, Poland, Sweden and the UK. Linked UN SDGs: 3 and 8. Public contact: Kim Mugaas, VP Sales, Kim.Mugaas@checkware.com.
