CoreIntegrity floating-wind mooring monitoring
Published 21 February 2023; updated 30 September 2026; 3-minute read. CoreIntegrity combines global-motion sensors and subsea acoustic sensors to monitor floating offshore wind assets, from moorings and dynamic export cables to the turbine. It continuously measures position, movement and loads, estimates real-time mooring tension and fatigue life, and can forecast up to a week ahead using weather forecasts. Algorithms turn the sensor data into reports through a live interface, including peak loads, stress loads and corrosion-related information.
The article says floating wind places heavy strain on moorings and that offshore inspection, repair and subsea operations are costly. The monitoring system is presented as reducing routine physical inspections, enabling targeted predictive maintenance, and helping owners find potential problems early. Accumulated movement data may also inform future mooring designs and floating-wind production models. The page says the approach has also been used in offshore aquaculture and oil and gas.
CoreMarine was established in 2016 and has offices in Norway, Spain and Australia. The article mentions development plans for Scotland, Norway, Spain, France, the UK, East Asia and the US, and cites a historic forecast of the floating-wind market growing from USD 1 billion in 2019 to USD 59 billion by 2027.
