Desert Control Liquid NanoClay for degraded soil

Source modified 21 Sep 2026·2 min read

From the public capture. Detailed factual notes from Business Norway. Statements and figures reflect the source at the time of capture.

  • Published 24 March 2023; updated 21 September 2026; 2-minute read. Desert Control’s patented Liquid NanoClay (LNC) is made on site from water, clay and local soil, without chemical additives. It helps sandy soil hold water and nutrients. The page says treated land can be planted after about seven hours rather than the usual 10–15 years, that one application lasts around five years, and that water use can fall by up to 50% while crop yields rise.

  • Independent validation by the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture is reported as finding up to 47% higher yields and lower irrigation use in open-field cultivation in marginal desert areas. LNC is also described as supporting soil health and biodiversity, reducing fertiliser and chemical use, preventing contaminants from reaching groundwater, reducing runoff and potentially increasing carbon sequestration. The page discusses projects in the UAE and MENA region and older feasibility plans for the US West Coast.

  • The article cites one-third of global soil as degraded and annual loss of 12 million hectares of fertile land to drought and desertification. Its reference to 1.8 billion people facing water scarcity by 2025 is a historical projection. Availability shown: available. Category: agritech and food production.
