From the public capture. Detailed factual notes from Business Norway. Statements and figures reflect the source at the time of capture.

  • Published 25 January 2024; updated 30 September 2026; 3-minute read. DOF offers floating-offshore-wind engineering, site assessment, construction planning, turbine assembly, offshore installation, cable laying and operational support, using its own vessel fleet. The company also studies project execution to improve efficiency. It describes its service as covering development through installation and maintenance.

  • DOF worked with Aker Solutions on Hywind Tampen, assembling 11 turbines and installing moorings, towing the turbines offshore and connecting them to pre-installed mooring systems. Each turbine is described as 300 m tall, 100 m in diameter and about 25,000 metric tonnes dry weight. DOF says its optimisation can lower the levelised cost of energy, reduce project risk, and support investment and market growth while incorporating environmental protection and compliance practices.

  • DOF reports 40 years of offshore-sector experience and about 4,000 employees worldwide, with offices in Angola, Australia, Brazil, Ghana, Malaysia, Norway, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and the US. Japan and South Korea are identified as current expansion priorities. The article cites a projection of 264 GW of floating wind by 2050, about 15% of offshore-wind generation. Availability shown: available. Categories: offshore wind (development/presurvey, balance of plant, operations/maintenance) and energy. Linked UN SDG: 7. Public contact: Jan-Kristian Haukeland, EVP Renewables, jan-kristian.haukeland@dof.com. Company: DOF GROUP ASA, Alfabygget 1, 5392 Storebø, Norway; dof.com.
