Easee EV charging with grid balancing
Published 23 November 2022; updated 30 September 2026; 2-minute read. Easee’s charging robot automatically detects an EV’s power requirements. Chargers communicate locally and through the cloud, balance charging across multiple vehicles, and update software automatically when connected to the internet. Safety features listed include heat detection and Type B electrical ground-fault detection.
Easee Home is for residential charging and Easee Charge is for commercial buildings. Charge dynamically allocates available building power among connected units, and includes a back-office billing system. Easee also offers docking stations and a scalable plug-and-play option. Electricians can install the systems; users manage charging through the Easee app. The Easee Equalizer accessory lets users draw on available building capacity without exceeding the main fuse.
The article says 101 units can be mounted on the same circuit, and that customers can start with one charger and add units as demand grows. It describes the charger as almost 70% smaller than comparable units, weighing 1.5 kg, and using 4 kg less copper and plastic than average chargers, corresponding to 60% less waste (company claims reported by the page).
Market context on the page includes an IEA projection of 100 million EVs globally by 2025 and 250 million by 2030, and says Norway planned to phase out combustion-engine car sales by 2025; these are historical forecasts/policy statements in the 2022 article.
