From the public capture. Detailed factual notes from Business Norway. Statements and figures reflect the source at the time of capture.

  • Published 23 November 2022; updated 21 September 2026; 3-minute read. At the time of the article, EcoFishCircle’s modular recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) was described as “soon available,” with the first demonstration facility, Lista Project, also planned for the near term. The company designed separate, self-contained tanks with in-tank biofilters and connected sludge handling. Each tank is isolated to manage stocks independently and limit disease spread.

  • The design uses carbon capture from fish respiration, blockchain and AI, according to the article. It avoids large shared industrial buildings; the company says simplified infrastructure halves construction costs, recycles 97% of water and reduces fish-production costs by at least 30% versus traditional RAS. These are company-reported estimates.

  • EcoFishCircle says it can reduce aquaculture emissions by 40%, directly through CO₂ capture and indirectly by replacing imported soy protein in feed. Captured CO₂ was intended as an input for sustainable feed ingredients. Sister company Gas 2 Feed was developing salmon-feed ingredients using carbon capture, fermentation, and oxygen and hydrogen from electrolysis; the page says full implementation could eliminate aquaculture carbon emissions. The system was also presented as improving fish welfare by preventing disease and sea lice spread, preventing escapes, supporting traceability and freeing land for agriculture or bird habitats.

  • The company described tank-by-tank expansion as limiting initial investment risk and allowing earlier cash flow. Availability: soon available (per article). Categories: aquaculture and fisheries; circular economy. Linked UN SDGs: 2, 9, 12 and 14. Public contact: Jarle Dragvik, Board member; no email address was shown. Company: ECOFISHCIRCLE AS, Strandgaten 18, 4550 Farsund, Norway; ecofishcircle.no. No event listings or participation fees are displayed.
