  • Published December 9, 2023; updated September 30, 2026; estimated reading time 3 minutes. Status: available. Categories: Offshore wind / Balance of plant; Technology / Robotics; Energy; Industrial production.
  • Goodtech provides a turnkey automated and digital production line for offshore-wind substructures, for both bottom-fixed and floating turbines. Robots weld and handle components; a data-driven system monitors production; automated guided vehicles move parts internally. Robots scan parts against CAD models and generate production programmes. A manufacturing execution system tracks processes and parameters for traceability.
  • The article says substructures were commonly assembled manually in lower-cost Asian countries, making work slow and labor-intensive, with human-error risk and transport emissions/costs. Goodtech’s goal is to reduce production time from a year to a few weeks; it says an automated system can weld a pipe up to seven times faster than workers who take two days per pipe.
  • Goodtech says local production near wind-farm sites could reduce transport and labor costs, manual work and error risk while improving quality, safety and productivity. The article says it delivered a fully automated line to Aker Solutions. Goodtech targets offshore wind yards and developers seeking local production and offers other sector services from studies and EPCI through implementation, support and after-market.
  • The page cites a 2023–2032 forecast of over 30 GW of new offshore-wind capacity across 32 markets, with 41% expected in Europe. It also notes Goodtech’s wind SCADA system at Hywind Tampen, described as the world’s largest floating offshore-wind farm at the time. SDGs shown: 7 and 9. Embedded video present; no transcript exposed in the page text.
