Goodtech Wind SCADA for offshore wind farms
- Published December 9, 2023; updated September 30, 2026; estimated reading time 3 minutes. Status: available. Categories: Offshore wind / Operations and maintenance and Lifetime extension and decommissioning; Energy.
- Goodtech’s vendor-independent Wind SCADA system combines data from different offshore-wind suppliers into a high-level operational view. The page says operators face data from wind, waves, currents, power forecasts, personnel tracking, equipment and network diagnostics, but need quick access to key information rather than separate vendor systems.
- Wind SCADA provides real-time visualization and control, integrates third-party systems securely and monitors installation data in the cloud to help detect errors quickly. Goodtech recommends early-stage studies to define integration and communication protocols, reducing testing and implementation costs.
- The system is used at Hywind Tampen, which the article calls the world’s largest floating offshore-wind farm, and Goodtech’s Wind Control System is also implemented at Zephyros-One and Hywind Scotland, described as the first commercial floating wind farm.
- Goodtech’s managed operations and maintenance services are said to reduce engineering and implementation costs by 30% and system downtime by 70%. The article says it worked with Equinor to optimize power generation by adjusting turbines using operational data.
- The market section cites a 2023–2032 projection of over 30 GW of new offshore-wind capacity in 32 markets, 41% in Europe. Goodtech also supplies automated substructure production and says it is one of Scandinavia’s largest independent system integrators, with services spanning studies, EPCI, implementation, support and after-market.
