- Green Mountain designs, builds and operates colocation data centres, powered by 100% renewable electricity and using free cooling to improve energy efficiency. It uses Norway’s cool, wet climate for indirect-air or fjord cooling. The article lists three campuses: SVG1-Rennesøy near Stavanger, RJU1-Rjukan in Telemark and OSL1-Enebakk about 20 km from Oslo.
- The SVG1 facility is described as a Tier III-certified data centre in a former high-security NATO ammunition storage facility. Green Mountain’s security framework includes physical, information/cyber and personnel security. Physical measures include biometric access, mantraps and intelligent video analysis, with layered systems intended to prevent unauthorized access and protect people and property.
- The article says the company’s data centres were the first in Scandinavia to receive Uptime Institute Tier III certification and had delivered 100% uptime since operations began. It offers detailed monitoring and configuration to fit customer requirements.
- Historical market figures in the article: Synergy Research Group counted 728 operating hyperscale data centres at end-2021, with more than 300 planned and a forecast of 1,200 by 2026. A Technavio report estimated the data-centre market would grow by nearly USD 616 billion from 2021 to 2026. Green Mountain says it has operated large-scale data centres since 2013 and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. SDGs shown: 9 and 12. Embedded video has no transcript exposed in page text.
