  • Happy City is SparkPark’s patented IoT parking-management system for small electric vehicles, including e-scooters and e-bikes. It combines a device mounted at a parking signpost with cloud software. Cities define small digitally fenced parking zones, and rental operators install the system on vehicles. A rider’s rental payment stops only after the vehicle is parked in an approved area. SparkPark says Bluetooth-device tracking can locate vehicles to within a centimeter.
  • The system is intended to prevent sidewalk clutter and improve pedestrian safety while preserving shared micromobility as a way to reach public transit and reduce car use. Its infrastructure is digital, requiring no docking stations, major installations or electricity. Cities can change parking-zone size and number for events.
  • The page says accessible sidewalks matter to older people and people with disabilities and argues that shared transport can reduce car-related air and noise pollution. It cites a McKinsey projection of nearly USD 101 billion for the shared-micromobility market by 2030 and says over half of consumers want cities to regulate operators.
  • At article time, Inurba Mobility was piloting Happy City in Stockholm, SparkPark was planning an e-scooter parking pilot with Bergen, and letters of intent had been signed with 12 other European cities. The article says the technology could later be applied in healthcare and welfare. SDG icons are not listed in this page’s extracted content.
