- Heymat’s Zen Entrance System is a modular carpet-tile flooring product for commercial building entrances, developed with Norwegian designer Kristine Five Melvær. It won the Red Dot Design Award in 2023. Three tile designs and colors can be mixed in patterns, laid in any direction, and cut to fit rooms.
- Its three-dimensional surface scrapes off mud and traps dirt while grooves channel moisture for evaporation, helping maintain a clean, dry entry. The company says the tiles reduce airborne dust, improve indoor air quality, protect interior floors, dampen sound and create a warmer atmosphere than ceramic tile.
- Tile pile is made from 100% recycled PET; rubber backing includes 20% recycled content. The product is durable, easy to clean and repair, and worn tiles can be replaced individually, reducing waste and maintenance costs. Heymat says it works with suppliers to reduce environmental impact across its range.
- The article says textile flooring is gaining attention in European building design. Heymat, a family-owned company in northern Norway, serves B2B and B2C customers and was established in Europe; it planned entry to the US by end-2024. This is a historical plan. Products are sold internationally. SDGs shown: 3 and 12.
