From the public capture. Detailed factual notes from Business Norway. Statements and figures reflect the source at the time of capture.

  • Published October 20, 2022; updated September 21, 2026; estimated reading time 2 minutes. Status: available. Industry: Maritime.
  • InnSep’s Lynx Separator is designed to separate liquids from gas and remove black-carbon particles from combustion exhaust. The article describes trials for ship exhaust and other offshore equipment; the technology had been tested with hydrocarbons up to 60 bar at Colorado Experiment Engineering Station (CEESI) in the US.
  • The page says ship exhaust contains NOx, SOx and small, insoluble black-carbon particles that are difficult for existing technology to capture; black carbon is linked to pulmonary disease. If trials succeed, Lynx could capture black carbon and help ships meet emissions rules without extensive overhauls, while also cutting NOx/SOx.
  • The article states 70,000 ships worldwide would need such solutions by 2022. Other possible uses include restaurant ventilation, where fat particles can create fire hazards, and industrial processes. InnSep was established in 2011 as an NTNU Department of Energy and Process Engineering spin-off. SDGs shown: 9 and 12. Embedded video present; no transcript exposed.
  • Contact: Sondre Klæboe Jacobsen, CEO, sondre@innsep.com; phone reveal control collapsed. Company: INNSEP AS, Sluppenvegen 11, 7037 Trondheim, Norway; innsep.com.
