  • Metizoft’s MZ Chemical System gives shipowners, administrators and chemical handlers an overview of onboard chemical stock and use. It supports safe-handling routines and up-to-date cleaning, maintenance and leakage records. The system also includes an exposure log, product safety data sheets, a substance register and risk assessments for harmful chemicals, and is available online or offline on computers, tablets and phones.
  • The page says chemicals used for routine shipboard work such as cleaning and water treatment may be stored in several places and can be toxic if handled incorrectly. MZ Chemical System tracks stock levels, withdrawals and replacement of hazardous substances; it rates hazard levels from 1 to 5, supports employer protective measures and lets crew record personal exposure and access precautions.
  • Customer comments are attributed to Remøy Management’s COO, who praises the combined exposure log, risk assessments and safety data, and O.H. Meling’s HSEQ Manager, who says the system improved control over complicated chemical rules. The article says effective chemical management can improve worker safety, reduce environmental impacts and costs, and cut product waste.
  • Metizoft says demand is growing as EU, IMO and other authorities strengthen chemical rules and shipping firms work on ESG performance. Its target market is global shipping, though the software may apply to any business using chemicals. Founded in 2006 to map hazardous materials on ships, Metizoft also offers ESG, IHM, documentation-management and life-cycle-assessment services. SDGs 8 and 14 shown.
