  • Published July 8, 2022; updated September 30, 2026; estimated reading time 2 minutes. The quick-information box says a first pilot unit was ready for testing at Norwegian sites and the proven technology would be optimised in 2021 (stale wording retained from the source). • Nordic Booster’s EST BoostCharger™ is a mobile fast charger for electric construction machinery and vehicles. It combines multiple CCS2 chargers rated at 150 kW (200–800 VDC) with a 180 kW, 400/230 VAC connection and can also supply other site loads. A large lithium battery pack, inverters and controllers are housed in a movable container offered in different sizes.
  • The page says limited grid capacity can make electric construction equipment impractical, despite available machines. The BoostCharger can cut charging time from 6–8 hours on the grid to about one hour and act as a peak shaver, smoothing power demand, lowering costs and reducing grid strain without expanding grid capacity. It supports common electric-vehicle charging interfaces.
  • The article says construction sites contribute 11% of emissions from global buildings and calls zero-emission machinery a route to lowering that footprint. Its market discussion includes historical 2021 estimates of Scandinavian sales—over 200 electric excavators, over 100 electric trucks and several hundred electric buses—and 30–40 construction sites needing chargers because of grid limits. Target customers include construction firms, machine owners and rental companies, property developers in Scandinavia and Europe, with possible uses for trucks, buses, private EVs and offshore vessels. SDGs 9 and 11 shown.
