PSW Power & Automation’s mobile batteries enable zero-emission construction sites
- Published 13 March 2023; updated 16 April 2026; estimated reading time 3 minutes. Listed globally under Battery / Application, Energy / Power supply, and Architecture and construction.
- PSW supplies containerised mobile battery systems for construction sites and other locations that need temporary electricity. The battery containers cover peak demand where a site lacks sufficient grid capacity, avoiding costly temporary grid upgrades. The system pairs battery hardware with BQ Battery Intelligence software for energy control and operating-data logging. It can also supply short-term event/arena power and replace some or all diesel generators.
- The article cites construction as responsible for 10% of global greenhouse-gas emissions and describes city rules driving diesel-generator replacement. PSW claims full avoidance of diesel generators can eliminate their emissions; hybrid battery/diesel operation can still reduce emissions. It also reports up to 40% lower maintenance costs than diesel generators and says the system adapts to different grid codes.
- PSW serves rental firms that supply equipment to larger businesses. The page names Germany, the Netherlands and Norway as large-volume markets and says the system was approved in the Netherlands for inland electric vessels. The company also supplies mobile DC fast chargers for heavy machinery.
- Linked to SDGs 3 (Good health and well-being), 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure) and 11 (Sustainable cities and communities) for reduced construction-site air and noise pollution and more efficient electric machinery.
