SmartHeater provides carbon-neutral heating for construction projects
- Published 15 March 2023; updated 21 September 2026; estimated reading time 2 minutes. Listed under Architecture and construction.
- RoMy Clima’s SmartHeater is a mobile heating unit combining ventilation and heat-pump technology to keep construction buildings warm and dry. It draws energy from indoor and outdoor air and provides a heating effect stated as four to five times the input energy for air and distributed hot water. The page says it operates down to −20 °C and gives current capacity as 90 kW (the page labels it “KWh”), with a scalable system housed in a movable 10-foot steel container.
- The product is presented as replacing diesel or propane construction heaters, which the page describes as costly and emissions-intensive. RoMy claims heating costs can fall by up to 40% versus biodiesel and says replacing fossil heaters reduces project greenhouse-gas emissions. These are company claims as reported in the article.
- The stated first market is the Nordic region, with plans to expand into the rest of the EU and North America. RoMy Clima was founded in 2015 by heating and ventilation specialists with more than 25 years of experience.
- Linked to SDG 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure) for lower emissions and greater energy efficiency in construction.
