Scatec offers flexible leasing of redeployable solar and battery solutions
- Published 26 October 2022; updated 21 September 2026; estimated reading time 2 minutes. Listed under Battery / Integration and Energy / Solar energy.
- Scatec’s Release is a containerised solar-power and storage system delivered with panels and batteries pre-assembled for faster deployment. It is offered through flexible-duration leasing agreements with limited upfront investment and can integrate with existing power infrastructure and hybrid battery systems. Its modular, movable design is intended to support redeployment and reduce long-term balance-sheet exposure.
- The offer targets organisations that cannot commit substantial capital or need a shorter commitment, including remote operations, mines, industrial companies, utilities and NGOs. The page names refugee camps as an example of sites with uncertain long-term planning horizons. It says the system can lower energy costs and dependence on fossil fuels, especially in emerging markets.
- Market projections in the article are dated: global power demand growth of 57% from 2018 to 2050, USD 11.5 trillion of new-generation investment and more than 70%/USD 250 billion annually for wind and solar; a solar-capacity projection from 107 GW in 2018 to 130 GW in 2021; and Scatec’s target of 4.5 GW operating or under construction by end-2021. Those target dates have passed and current outcomes are not established here. At publication, Scatec said it had over 1.9 GW operating or under construction on four continents and was certified by DNV and WSP.
