Sea-Lix smart water technology ensures stable water supply
- Published 1 December 2022; updated 23 March 2026; estimated reading time 2 minutes. Listed under Water and wastewater.
- Sea-Lix offers tools for monitoring and controlling municipal water-distribution networks. Its autonomous POGMI/POGMO platform gathers operational and water-quality data for preventive maintenance; the Smart Utility Data Analytics (SUDA) platform processes it, with alerts sent through an IoT interface. The POPCO pressure-control turbine manages network pressure in real time and can convert excess pressure into electricity.
- The article describes ageing, poorly monitored networks as a source of leaks and contamination risk. It states that one-third of water systems lose more than 40% of produced water. Sea-Lix says its integrated system helps operators see network conditions, locate likely leaks and maintenance needs, and reduce water leakage by 20–50%, as well as the frequency of new leaks. Those figures are company claims on the page.
- The article cites global water scarcity and projected growth in water-sector energy use, with figures attributed to UN Water and the IEA. It presents smart monitoring and pressure management as ways to conserve potable water and reduce energy use.
- Market context cites a smart-water-management market forecast of USD 8.46 billion in 2016 to USD 20.1 billion by 2021; that projection period has elapsed.
