- Published 21 March 2023; updated 21 September 2026; estimated reading time 3 minutes. Marked available; listed under Technology and Industrial production.
- Upkip is a cloud-based manufacturing monitoring product from ICB Digital. It collects and analyses real-time data from CNC machines, production lines and external sensors, including CO₂ emissions, equipment effectiveness, downtime, scrap and other operational measures. The company says it can sit alongside existing information systems and centralise data across factory operations.
- Machine-learning analytics are used for predictive maintenance, to identify problems before equipment fails and potentially extend machine life, reduce replacement purchases and cut operating costs/emissions. Other described uses include spotting potential scrap before production, giving workers situational awareness and tracking KPIs. These benefits are presented by the vendor; the article gives no independently measured outcomes.
- The pay-as-you-go service was designed with SMEs and affordability in mind, and is also described as suitable for large enterprises. HTS Dynamics, a manufacturer serving subsea technology, is a named user and is shown with an emissions dashboard.
- Target customers and partners include manufacturers using CNC equipment and production lines, CNC distributors and implementation partners working in production optimisation, maintenance and IoT. Current target markets are the Nordic countries, Austria, Germany and Switzerland; ICB Digital also has a presence in Bulgaria and planned expansion to Bulgaria, Romania and the wider region.
- ICB Digital is described as a joint venture of InterConsult Bulgaria (ICB) and International Development Norway (IDN), with IDN’s network intended to support international growth. The article cites manufacturing as responsible for 30% of global greenhouse-gas emissions but supplies no source in the page text.
